St. John's UMC Nomads Project, Winter Haven, FL

This first picture is Pastor Nelson on Sunday morning.  We attended his service and were so very warmly welcomed and loved.

This is Pastor Nelson.  Do not try to tell him God does not speak to you in dreams!

This is Abraham, God's answer to Nelson's prayer.  Abraham interrupted the sermon for us during service.  Needless to say, he loves his father and his God.

A most loving father and his son.

Abraham and his Mom.

If you are interested, the following are pictures during the St John's UMC Nomads project working on the Mission Church Nelson Pastors.

St John's UMC sponsored and supported the Nomads Project.  It is a wonderful Church with loving Christians serving their Lord.

The Mission Church Nelson is serving as Pastor and the one we spent most of our time working.

In case you can not read the sign on the Church.

You meet some of God's sweetest angels disguised as Nomads on some of these Teams, and this one is no exception.  From left to right:  Dennis and Nancy Williams (Michigan), Bill and Wanda Kearney (North Carolina),  John and Mary Ann, Al and Judy Nelson (Minnesota).

Every day starts with a devotion given by a Team member.   Then the days work is discussed.

But all is not work!

Mary Ann worked from ceiling to ........

floor.

Outside ......

and inside.

Nothing like a happy worker!

Just when the Fellowship Hall was finished, it was time for the kitchen.

If you have never had Cuban coffee, it comes in very small cups and you do not sleep for 2 days if you drink 2 cups.

Window work.

Painting is always on the Nomads task list.  Have I told you that painting is my most least liked task?

Replacing ceiling tile is an exciting task.  You never know what will fall out when the tile is removed.

The Team also worked on a facility that provided health and other services to local residents, mostly Mexicans who pick the fruit in the area orchards.

It was a good project and lasting friendships were made and strengthened.
